Just like beauty is in the eye of the beholder,
"art" is a very broad term.
It comes in many mediums, shapes, sizes and colors.
So when our prompt from Sally this week was to
Create Art
I was intrigued to find out what that means to everyone on this year long photo journey.
While I am a crafter and enjoy creating with fabric, paper and my sewing machine,
a lot of what I create comes out of my kitchen.
As the opportunity often arises, I found myself playing with dough.
Sourdough that is!
I bake bread weekly and as it was sitting there cooling on the counter with the sun filtering in...I found the perfect moment to capture what I had created.
And the best part about this particular art form...
It's totally edible!
Stop by here and see what others created this week!
Have a wonderful week!

ooo that is an AWESOME photo!! Love the sun streaming in, and I totally want to eat that bread. There's nothing better than freshly baked bread (and do you know, I've never made bread in my life!).
I was so close to making whoopie pies for this post, but I would have eaten them all...the problem with edible art!! I love this photo with the sun streaming in. It's very artsy!
Edible art, the best kind!
Edible art...love it! Makes me hungry! Keep up the good work and if you ever have any bread left over...well....I live in Fla!
Love fresh bread! I should start making it again since I live on a small island in the middle of nowhere and fresh anything is a ferry ride away!
There is absolutley no better smell and no better taste than home made bread! And, I can almost taste the crunch of your crust...yum!
A baking sister - I made challah!

I can do without sweets for a looonng time, but bread is my weakness. And this bread looks so gorgeous! You have totally captured it's delectable essence with your fabulous photograph. I am drooling.....
Fresh bread is such a wonderful thing! You could come bake in my kitchen any time.
And I love the play of light and shadow in your photograph.
What a wonderful food photo. Two arts in one!
mmmm I can almost smell it! looks so warm, fresh and tasty - I'm salivating over here!
Absolutely incredible! Nothing in our neiborhood bakery comes close to looking as good as your bread. I don't know how you resisted eating it long enough to take the wonderful pic! Nice post!
Bread making is definitely a creative endeavor and nothing beats the smell of fresh baked bread.
Yummy! I can almost smell the wonderful aroma. When can I come over???? :)
Baking bread is certainly a form of art.
I think I could eat half of this loaf in one sitting! Yummy. And the way the light is making patterns is cool--kind of like stained glass.
Oh sourdough! It has been years since I've made sourdough one of my favorites. I also like making fresh pita bread.
Fantastic Photo!
Sourdough has got to be one of the greatest breads!! :)
Mmmm yummy beautiful bread! What could be better?

I love everything about baking bread .. the way the dough forms, the punching down, the smell as it rises and bakes. Your sourdough looks so good. Hmmm .. I think I have plans for tomorrow. :)
I can smell this via the screen...unfortunately, I haven't had good, wheat-y/ yeast-y bread in eons...lovely photos!
Simply beautiful!
Great job on your photo. Your bread looks really yummy. I make most of the bread in my house also.
Your art looks pretty darn tasty! Sourdough is my husband's favorite type of bread.
Sourdough...oh that takes me back to having a bowl of starter and having to feed it etc. Is that how it is still done? The smell and look of fresh bread....there is nothing better. Yes, edible art!
YUM - truly a work of art. Love the shot, too.
Cheers to edible art, indeed!
Looks delicious.
