A is for Apple

There is something about Fall and apples.
They seem to go hand in hand.
A perfect match.

A tart Granny Smith, dipped in sweet sticky caramel...
Need I say more?

Or my personal favorite...the Macintosh.
A softer fleshed apple, that is mildly sweet and oh so juicy!
The best way to eat it in my opinion...
apple in one hand, and some cheddar cheese in the other.
The perfect afternoon snack!

What's your favorite apple?

Lucky Streak

It's that time of week...
Yes, somehow it's Tuesday again!

I'm not normally a very lucky person.
In life...yes, but in regards to winning things...not so much.
I enter, but it just doesn't usually happen.
So first there was the pizza stone, which was totally awesome and now
this gorgeous ring from

Isn't it beautiful?!?!
The designs remind me of coral under the sea.
It totally made my day when it showed up in the mail.
Packages rock!

Heather's shop is filled to the brim with gorgeous things...
I have a bunch of her stuff on my favorites list.
Hint, hint to my hubby!

With my winning streak lately...
maybe I should buy a lottery ticket or better yet go to Vegas?!

What's been tickling your fancy this past week?
I'd love to know!

Stone(d) Pizza

It's that time of week again where I tell you
what's been tickling my fancy...

This week it's all about a new kitchen gadget and the delicious food it makes!

There aren't too many people that don't like to eat pizza.
I have needed wanted one of these for a long time.
So when I spotted a giveaway on A Zesty Bite for a pizza stone I had to enter.
Well low and behold...
I won!!

Oh my exciting!

The day it arrived...
Guess what we were having for dinner!?!?

I cheated a little on the dough, since these were in my fridge.

We made a multi flavor pizza so everyone got exactly what they wanted...

BBQ chicken with homemade caramelized onions
Fresh mozzarella with grape tomatoes and basil

While my timing needs a little practice on getting the crust just right,
the first time results were delicious and gobbled all up!
In fact I ended up making a second one!!

What's your favorite pizza toppings?

Kitchen Towels and A Giveaway

Please note this giveaway is now closed!

I love decorating for the Holidays.
It makes your house feel festive.

Halloween is one Holiday that I tend to neglect my interior,
and focus more attention on the exterior decorations.

This year I found an adorable set of kitchen towels to liven up my kitchen!
Considering how much time I spend in there,
I figured they'd be seen a lot and put to good use.

I thought they were so cute, I actually bought 2 sets...
one for me and one for one of my followers!
I figured someone else's kitchen could use a little pick me up too.

Aren't they cute!!

Five generously sized 16" x 28" cotton towels in the cutest Halloween prints!!
($14 value)

Want to win them?

Please note this giveaway is now closed!

Leave me a comment telling me your favorite thing about Halloween...

Foodles & Berries

Somehow a whole week has gone by
and we're back to Tuesday again!

That means it's time once again for...

This week's edition...
Quick Work Snacks.

I have a very active job...
having a room full of 3 and 4 year olds tends to do that!!
It usually means eat on the about 5 mins or less.

I do the obvious easy to hold choices...
granola bar
but somedays you want something a little different.

I was really excited to see these at the market!

Blueberries all packed up and ready to go, in a perfect snack portion!
Crush resistant packaging for easy transport in my purse
Oh so delicious!

And then this little fun number...

Apple slices, cheese cubes and pretzels!

I do work in a preschool after all...
so I think it's ok for me to be eating out of a mouse shaped box!
Now I just need to make sure the kids don't take my fun snack!!

What's your favorite quick and easy work munchie?

This post is quite overdue...
somehow it got lost in the shuffle and never got posted.
So much for my awesome organizational skills...Oooops!
I figure better late than not at all.

Fifteen years ago I was blessed.
With a little bundle of joy.
A rather cranky one to be honest.
I'd never met a baby that cried so much.
He had colic the poor thing, and there was little to be done to soothe him.

As he grew, thankfully that passed and his demeanor changed.
He was a shy toddler...painfully so at times,
but bright like you wouldn't believe.
He read at a very early age and was always eager to learn new things.
That has not changed.

Underneath his quiet exterior is an adventurer.
He longs to learn and visit new places.
He approaches new things with subdued excitement and anticipation.
He has a happy and generous soul.
He is a loyal friend.
A hard worker.
I am proud to be his Mom.

He lives and breathes for guitar and soccer.
He has a quiet passion that you can both see and feel.

To our boy who is dedicated to whatever is at hand,
continually makes us proud and amazes us.
We love you.

Happy Birthday Indiana!

Here he is, playing one of his songs that he wrote...enjoy!

Thankful Thursday

Today I thought I would join Annette over at
Thankful Thursday

This week I am thankful for...
The rain...we hadn't seen it for a long time, it was a welcome change.
Cooler temperatures which meant baking and chili...(more to come on that soon)
A rare weekday lunch with my husband.
An email from a friend that made me laugh.
A beautiful new song my son has been playing on the guitar.

What about you...
What are you thankful for today?

The Drive Thru Caramel Apple

It's Tuesday and that means...

and this week
it's something just a little bit naughty!

I'm not a fan of fast food.
I can probably count on one hand,
how many times a year I get something from a drive thru...
well unless you count coffee!

This past weekend we spent a warm...very warm actually,
day at the beach.
There is something about after the beach...
but I always want ice cream...always!!

So we drove through McDonalds to get a cone,
but then,
I saw the poster for this...

Oh, oh...danger!!
Ice Cream
Well, come on...
I had to get one!!

It was perfect!

Kind of like a caramel apple and an ice cream cone collided and fell into a bowl.

And if you see me in the drive thru...
I'm just getting a coffee!
Wink, Wink!!
